Editorial Rethinking Gender, Risk and Depression in Australian Mental Health Policy

چکیده
Auseinet has also been committed to producing high quality information, resources and research that supports and facilitates the implementation of mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention initiatives. This is demonstrated by one of Auseinet's most recent publications 'Mental Health and Work: Issues and Perspectives' launched at the Auseinet National Forum in September 2002. It addresses an issue that affects the whole population. We all do work in the sense of effort directed to making or doing something. Without such effort all human systems fall apart from the natural process of entropy. Relationships need work to maintain communication and understanding. Homes need work to create and maintain some semblance of cleanliness and order; gardens certainly need repeated work. Families need to work together on common goals to solve daily problems, and to maintain roles, communication, understanding, involvement and standards of behaviour.

We explore the power-knowledge relations that shape current policy directions, and hence the thinking that g...

Medical Journal of Australia, 177(7), 117-121]. Drawing upon research into articles on depression publ...
متن کاملThe “Hot Potato” of Mental Health App Regulation: A Critical Case Study of the Australian Policy Arena
Background Health apps are a booming, yet under-regulated market, with potential consumer harms in privacy and health safety. Regulation of the health app market tends to be siloed, with no single sector holding comprehensive oversight. We sought to explore this phenomenon by critically analysing how the problem of health app regulation is being presented and addressed in the policy arena...

The editorial materials in top medical and public health journals are opportunities for experts to offer thoughts that might influence the trajectory of the field. To date, while some studies have examined gender bias in the publication of editorial materials in medical journals, none have studied public health journals. In this perspective, we studied the gender ratio ...
